This notice explains what personal data Up-Stride collects through this website (www.up-stride.co.uk), why, and what you can do about it. It is written for the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Up-Stride Limited (trading as Up-Stride) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company no. 16225968, with our registered office at 2nd Floor College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip HA4 7AE. We work from Birmingham and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). For anything about your data, email hello@up-stride.co.uk.
What we collect and why
When you send an enquiry
Our enquiry forms ask for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number and company. We use these details to reply to you and arrange the consultation you asked for. Specifically:
- Your details are emailed to the Up-Stride team so we can respond.
- We send you an automatic email confirming we received your enquiry.
- Your enquiry is stored securely in our website database, so the Up-Stride team can keep track of it.
- The form is processed on our hosting provider’s servers, which may record it in their service logs.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to a request you made) and, where you go on to work with us, taking steps to enter into a contract with you. We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows.
If you email or phone us directly, we use what you send us in the same way.
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters to people who make an enquiry. If that changes, we will only do so with your consent, and you will be able to opt out at any time.
Analytics (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. It runs in Google’s Consent Mode: until you accept analytics cookies, no analytics cookies are set, and the Google tag sends only cookieless measurement signals. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your approximate location and your device and browser type. We do not use advertising cookies, and advertising consent is always left off.
If you accept, we also use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used through heatmaps and session recordings: where people click, how far they scroll and how they move between pages. Text you type into forms is masked and not recorded.
If you accept, we also load a small attribution script from our Enquiry Engine service. It records how you arrived at the site (for example from Google, Maps or an AI assistant) in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, so that an enquiry can be linked to the channel it came from. It does not store what you type into forms.
Our lawful basis for analytics is your consent. You can change your choice at any time: . Full details of each cookie and how long it lasts are on our cookies page.
Our intro video
The intro video on our home page is hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; once you do, YouTube (Google) may collect data and set cookies under its own privacy policy.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, it processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Some images and blog content are served from our storage providers (Vercel Blob and Supabase), so your browser connects to them directly. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in running a secure, working website.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run this website and our enquiries for us, acting on our instructions:
- Resend: sending enquiry emails.
- Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Microsoft: Clarity heatmaps and session recordings, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Supabase: storing website enquiries, and hosting our Enquiry Engine service, blog content and images.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete it
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it
- ask for your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it)
To use any of these rights, email hello@up-stride.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
